Frequently Asked Questions

Does this set cover the fax model as well, or is fax toner different?

It is the same toner. The f in M680f adds fax hardware, not a different print engine, so the machine takes the standard family set: CF320A black (652A) with CF321A cyan, CF322A yellow and CF323A magenta (653A), $161.33 for all four.

Which cartridge does the fax traffic actually use?

Incoming faxes print as black-and-white pages, so fax volume lands entirely on the CF320A black cartridge, rated at 11,500 pages. The colour cartridges — 16,500 pages each — are only touched by colour printing and colour copying.

Our fax line is busy all day. Will black run out long before the colours?

Very likely, yes. A fax-heavy machine can work through black at several times the rate of the colours. Many fax offices keep a spare black on hand and treat this full set as the periodic complete refresh.

Does receiving a fax while a colour is empty cause a problem?

Fax pages need only the black cartridge, so an empty colour slot does not block incoming fax printing. The machine will still want the colour replaced before it runs colour jobs again.

Can the set be fitted by front-office staff rather than IT?

Easily. The cartridges load from the front, each into its own colour-marked slot, and the panel walks through the change. No tools and no service visit are involved.

What support and returns cover applies?

The set has a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, and support answers Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST. Full return directions are on the shipping & returns page.

About This Set for the Enterprise 600 MFP M680f

The M680f is the fax-equipped configuration of HP's Enterprise 600 colour MFP — the machine that still answers the phone line in legal, medical and logistics offices while handling the department's colour work. Both jobs run on the same four cartridges in this set: the 652A black and the three 653A colours. Its category page is the Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M680f.

We dispatch from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, using the nearest stock. Single black cartridges for fax-heavy stretches between set changes are stocked in our HP range.
