Frequently Asked Questions

What is this pack, in one line?

Nine CE255XJ maximum-capacity black cartridges at $576.01 — the central-stores quantity of the 55XJ cartridge, each one rated at 20,000 pages and each sealed in its own box.

Who orders toner by the nine-pack?

Purchasing departments. When an organization runs a fleet on one cartridge, the annual or semi-annual buy looks like this: one order, one line on the budget, and a stockroom shelf that answers every toner request the fleet makes.

What is the advantage of holding this much stock?

Continuity. A machine that runs dry at any site is refilled from the shelf the same day, emergency orders disappear, and the price of keeping the fleet printing stops depending on whoever happens to notice an empty printer first.

How does a stockroom keep nine cartridges straight?

Arrival order and an issue log: date, destination, machine. At a 20,000-page rating each issue is a significant event, so the log stays short and the count on the shelf is easy to verify at a glance.

Is there a risk in holding cartridges this long?

Kept sealed, flat, cool and dry, toner waits patiently. The practical risk is not the cartridge ageing — it is a machine leaving the fleet, and because the CE255XJ serves its whole printer family, the stock simply flows to the remaining machines.

How are the cartridges issued to different sites?

Individually — each is boxed on its own, so a single cartridge can be sent to a branch while the rest stay in central stores. No repacking, no part-used boxes travelling between sites.
