ML-2160

The Samsung ML-2160 is a no-frills monochrome laser printer from the early 2010s, built for desks where printing is a utility, not a project. It takes up little room, wakes up fast, and turns out clean black-and-white pages for schoolwork, invoices, and everyday documents.

We stock both compatible MLT-D101S toner cartridges and genuine Samsung OEM cartridges for the ML-2160, so you can pick the balance of price and pedigree that suits your printing volume. Either way, your order ships fast from Clever Supplies and your printer is back in business without drama.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I download and install the driver when my computer can't detect the ML-2160?

If Windows cannot reach the manufacturer's installer, it substitutes a generic class driver that omits features like toner-level reporting for the MLT-D101S in the ML-2160. Installing the official Samsung driver restores full control over quality and supply status. Restart the printer after changing drivers so the queue clears.

After updating firmware, the ML-2160 started showing cartridge warnings — is the update the likely trigger?

The ML-2160 throwing a toner error after a fresh MLT-D101S install almost always means the cartridge is not fully seated or the protective seal was left on. Switch the printer off, take the cartridge out, clear any remaining tape or seals, and reinstall firmly. It should be recognized when the printer powers up again.

The ML-2160 cleared its jam but now only prints blank pages — what's the cause?

A bad driver can absolutely produce blank pages from the ML-2160 despite a full MLT-D101S. The diagnostic trick is to print a test page from the printer's own panel: it bypasses the computer completely. If that page prints correctly, reinstall the model-specific Samsung driver — the computer side is where the fault lies.
