Frequently Asked Questions

Which cartridge does the M425dw call for?

The label on the unit inside it reads CF280X — the HP 80X. This listing is that black cartridge sold as a single at $32.59, rated at 6,900 pages. Confirm against the spent cartridge's label and there is nothing left to guess.

What work does one cartridge cover on a wireless MFP?

All of its paper work: prints sent over Wi-Fi, copies made at the glass, and faxes that arrive overnight. Scanning is the one task that spends nothing. Three jobs drawing on one 6,900-page rating is why an MFP's cartridge turns over sooner than a printer's would.

What do I get when I order?

One CF280X cartridge, sealed in its sleeve inside a single carton. A one-for-one replacement for the machine's only cartridge — no bundle, no extras, nothing to shelve.

How does the swap go on this machine?

Lift the top section, draw the spent cartridge straight out, and unbox the fresh one. Rock it gently from side to side, pull the sealing strip clear, seat the cartridge fully, and close everything. The MFP is back on the network in minutes.

What signals that the old cartridge has reached the end?

Faxes and copies going gray while the supply reading sits at empty, plus a low-toner prompt that survives every dismissal. Rocking the old unit may darken a few pages; if the fade is back immediately, the cartridge is finished.

What backing stands behind this single?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns cover it — a faulty cartridge is swapped or refunded without a fight. Help comes from a person Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.
