Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know the CE390A in my M4555 MFP is truly at the end of its life?

Three signs together: the low-toner warning has been on for some time, output has greyed, and a remove-rock-refit cycle no longer restores density. Any one sign alone can mislead — warnings come early and a shaken cartridge recovers briefly — but all three together mean the toner is genuinely gone and the unit has delivered its life.

What is the cartridge's full rated life?

10,000 pages at standard coverage, and this is the full-capacity CE390A — the 90A — not a reduced starter unit. Dense graphics and bold-heavy documents consume toner faster per page, so a graphics-heavy MFP will count fewer sheets; plain text runs can exceed the headline figure.

What should I do with the empty cartridge?

Put it back in the new cartridge's bag and box — that packaging protects it and keeps toner residue contained. From there, most offices route empties to their local electronics or office-supply recycling stream. Do not bin a cartridge loose in general waste if a recycling route exists in your building; the sealed box makes the handover clean.

Can an empty be refilled and reused instead?

That is not what this listing offers, and not a route we recommend for a shared departmental MFP: print quality and page yield become unpredictable. A fresh sealed unit at $48.70 restores the full rated life and the warranty position in one step.

How do I time the replacement so the MFP never sits empty?

Order the successor when the warning first appears, and keep the empty's box until the new unit is fitted — the swap itself takes about two minutes. Because we dispatch from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, the replacement normally arrives while the old cartridge is still printing on its reserve.

Does the replacement carry the same cover as the first?

Identical: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on every cartridge, with help available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The shipping & returns page lays out delivery and how returns are handled.

About This Cartridge for the LaserJet M4555 MFP

This listing is the single black CE390A (90A) for the LaserJet M4555 family in its plain MFP listing, at $48.70 and 10,000 pages. Its subject is the end of the cycle: recognising a genuinely spent cartridge, handling the empty responsibly, and having the next unit ready so the changeover is invisible to the office. The broader family range is listed under HP.

Shoppers comparing options will also find the plain CE390A cartridge listing, a CE390A 2-pack for a shelf spare and the high-yield CE390X for longer runs between swaps. This is the same cartridge used by the LaserJet Enterprise 600 M603xh, LaserJet Enterprise M4555f, LaserJet Enterprise M4555fskm, LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601, LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602, LaserJet Enterprise 600 M603, LaserJet M4555, Enterprise M4555f, Enterprise M4555fskm, Enterprise M4555h, LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601dn, LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601n, LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602dn, LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602n, LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602x, LaserJet Enterprise 600 M603dn and LaserJet Enterprise 600 M603n.
