Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 3-pack contain?

Three individually sealed CF281X black cartridges under one order line. Each is the standard high-yield unit for the 81X family, rated at 25,000 pages, and each is opened only when its turn comes.

How do three cartridges map onto a quarter of printing?

For a mid-volume department, three cartridges land close to a quarter's worth of black printing — but your own page count is the honest guide. Check the supplies status page monthly; the percentage there tells you whether your quarter is two cartridges or four.

Should I write the arrival date on each box?

It is a small habit that pays off. A date on the box turns the shelf into a first-in, first-out queue, so the oldest cartridge is always the next one installed and nothing sits forgotten at the back for years.

Can the three cartridges be shared between two printers?

Yes, as long as both machines belong to the same family. The CF281X fits the M604, M605 and M606 printers and the M630 multifunctions, so a small fleet can draw from one shared 3-pack instead of keeping separate stock per device.

Does opening the outer carton affect the cartridges inside?

No. Each cartridge keeps its own sealed packaging after the outer box is opened, so taking one out for installation leaves the other two protected until they are needed.

What cover and delivery terms apply?

The pack is backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns; our shipping and returns page has the full terms. We dispatch from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and the support desk is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This 3-Pack

Three cartridges suit the office that prints too much for a single spare but has no room — or no need — for a deep cabinet stock. Spread across machines like the Enterprise M605dh and its M630 counterparts, the pack smooths out the reorder cycle into a calm quarterly rhythm. It is listed at $140.38 among our HP toner cartridges at Clever Supplies.

Smaller offices often pick the standard-yield CF281A 3-pack (81A) over the high-yield unit. Shoppers comparing pack sizes will also find the CF281X single (81X). The printer list for this cartridge reads: LaserJet Enterprise M605dn, LaserJet Enterprise MFP M630f, Enterprise M605dh, Enterprise M605dn, Enterprise M605n, Enterprise M605x, Enterprise M606dn, Enterprise M606x, Enterprise MFP M630f, Enterprise MFP M630h and LaserJet Enterprise flow MFP M630z.
