Color LaserJet Pro CP1525

The Color LaserJet Pro CP1525 is the base-model sibling: a single-function color laser from HP's early-2010s catalog for the one desk that prints the most. Simple to set up, straightforward to keep fed.

HP 128A toner, CE320A through CE323A, is what it takes. Keep a spare on hand — compatible for value, genuine OEM for HP-spec output — and the CP1525 keeps printing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are third-party toner cartridges safe to use in the Color LaserJet Pro CP1525?

Use CE320A, CE321A, CE322A, CE323A in the Color LaserJet Pro CP1525 — that is the full HP 128A set. Compatible replacements work fine as long as they are made for HP 128A; the Color LaserJet Pro CP1525 will not accept cartridges from other HP families.

My computer doesn't recognize the Color LaserJet Pro CP1525 — where do I start?

Download the latest driver for the Color LaserJet Pro CP1525 from HP's official support site, choosing your exact operating system. Install it with the printer connected or on the same network, then print a test page.

Is it safe for the Color LaserJet Pro CP1525 to run compatible toner long term?

No — using a compatible cartridge doesn't void the Color LaserJet Pro CP1525's hardware warranty on its own. If a cartridge ever caused damage, that would be on the cartridge, but normal compatible HP 128A cartridges are designed to the same fit as OEM.
