Frequently Asked Questions

The M603XH runs long unattended jobs — how do checks fit that pattern?

Deliberately, not unattended. The LaserJet Enterprise 600 M603xh can be left to grind through stored and stacked work, but a check run deserves an operator present: fit this MICR cartridge (CE390X, the magnetic 90X), watch the first sheets off, and let the batch finish under supervision.

What about the forms stored on the machine's hard drive?

Stored everyday forms keep printing with the standard cartridge. If a stored form is itself a check template, remember it is the toner fitted at print time — this MICR unit — that makes its coded line readable, not anything stored with the file.

Why does the coded line need magnetic toner?

Bank sorting equipment reads the routing line magnetically. MICR toner carries magnetic material for exactly that purpose; the cartridge otherwise matches the standard CE390X in fit and its 24,000-page rating.

Is bank acceptance guaranteed for checks from this machine?

It is not guaranteed by any cartridge. Your bank's readers, your check stock and the printer's condition share the outcome. Print test checks on your own stock and have the bank confirm them before trusting a production run to the setup.

How should the MICR unit be stored on a machine that runs around the clock?

Sealed and labeled in the supply cabinet, with its status on the same board or log the operators use for the machine's other supplies — an always-on printer consumes its standard cartridges fast, and the MICR unit should never be grabbed by mistake to keep a report run going.

What warranty and returns apply?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with support staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
