Frequently Asked Questions

The box says 90X and my printer asks for CE390X — is this the right cartridge?

It is. 90X is simply the short name for the CE390X high-yield cartridge; both codes describe the same unit. Match either one to your machine's supply label and you have the correct cartridge in hand.

What is this single cartridge rated at?

24,000 pages at standard coverage — the full high-yield capacity, not a shortened starter fill. Fitted to a busy machine, it is built to run from the first page to the last at even density.

How do I know the old cartridge is truly finished?

First the printer reports low toner; later, text visibly greys. Rocking the cartridge gently side to side redistributes what remains and can finish a short job, but when output fades a second time the unit has given what it has.

Is fitting it a job for a technician?

No. Lift the top cover, slide the old cartridge out by its handle, strip the sealing tape from the new 90X, and slide it in until it seats. On the 600 series the exchange takes about two minutes and needs no tools.

Which printers does this cartridge serve?

The LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601, M602 and M603 printers and the M4555 multifunction series, including the Enterprise M4555f. One part number covers that whole monochrome family.

What warranty and returns apply to this cartridge?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns: if the cartridge arrives damaged or fades far short of its rating, it is replaced or refunded. Help is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
