Frequently Asked Questions

How do I work out a reorder rhythm for a busy M602?

Count weeks, not pages. Note the date each CE390A is fitted; after two cartridges you will know your department's real cycle — say five weeks — and the rhythm sets itself: order the next unit a week before the expected end. The 10,000-page rating is the benchmark, but your calendar is the number that keeps the machine running.

What event should trigger the order?

Either of two: the low-toner message appearing, or the spare being fitted. The message means the reserve has started; the spare being fitted means the shelf is now empty. Both are calm moments to order — the panic moment, faded output with no cartridge in the building, is the one the rhythm exists to prevent.

How quickly can a fresh cartridge get to us?

We dispatch from the nearest of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and most orders arrive within a few working days. That transit window is exactly why the trigger is the warning rather than the fade: order on the signal and delivery overlaps the reserve instead of racing it.

Our volume is lumpy — heavy weeks and quiet weeks. Does the rhythm still work?

Yes, if the spare is part of it. Lumpy volume defeats calendar-only planning, so run both systems together: a sealed spare on the shelf absorbs the heavy week's surprise, and the order placed when that spare is fitted restores the buffer during the quiet week that follows.

What does one cartridge cost and cover?

$48.70 for a single CE390A — also named 90A — rated at 10,000 pages at standard coverage, full capacity rather than a starter fill. In a department M602, that is typically weeks of invoices, reports and correspondence per unit.

What if a cartridge misses its expected life badly?

A large shortfall is a defect, and it is on us: the cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. Talk to support Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Delivery and returns mechanics are on the shipping & returns page.

About This Cartridge for the LaserJet M602

This is the single black CE390A (90A) for the LaserJet Enterprise 600 M602 and the wider M602 line, at $48.70 and 10,000 pages. The subject of this page is timing: fitting dates, trigger events and a buffer spare, arranged so that toner ordering becomes a background habit of the department rather than an interruption. More supplies for the family are listed under HP.
