Frequently Asked Questions

What does this MICR 2 Pack contain?

Two individually sealed MICR cartridges, each a CE390A (HP 90A) unit filled with magnetic toner for check printing. Either can go straight into the printer on check day; the second waits sealed as the reserve.

Why keep a spare MICR cartridge at all?

Because check runs cannot drift. A payroll or payables run that stops mid-batch for want of toner becomes an same-day emergency, and MICR is not a cartridge you improvise around — a standard unit will print the checks, but bank readers will not read them.

How should the two cartridges be rotated?

Fit one, keep the other sealed and labeled as MICR so nobody spends it on ordinary printing. When the working cartridge finishes, the spare goes in and a replacement order goes out the same day — the pair is a rhythm, not a stockpile.

Should we test before trusting a new cartridge with payroll?

Yes. Print a small test batch from each newly opened cartridge and confirm readability with your bank before the full run. Acceptance can never be guaranteed in advance — stock, settings and readers differ — and the test is the only proof that counts.

Which printers take these cartridges?

The LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601, M602 and M603 printers and the M4555 multifunction machines, among them the Enterprise M4555f — the same family the standard 90A serves.

What warranty and returns apply to the pack?

Each cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a faulty unit is replaced or refunded on its own. Support runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
