Frequently Asked Questions

What toner cartridges does the LJ Enterprise 500 Color M551XH use?

The LJ Enterprise 500 Color M551XH uses four cartridges: CE400A black (or the high-yield CE400X), plus CE401A cyan, CE402A yellow, and CE403A magenta. You only need to replace the color that runs out.

Can the LJ Enterprise 500 Color M551XH use a high-yield black cartridge?

Yes - the LJ Enterprise 500 Color M551XH accepts the CE400X high-yield black cartridge as a direct swap for the standard CE400A. The color cartridges CE401A, CE402A, and CE403A come in standard yield.

Do I have to replace all four cartridges in the LJ Enterprise 500 Color M551XH at the same time?

No. The LJ Enterprise 500 Color M551XH tracks each cartridge separately, so replace only the one that is empty - usually the CE400A or CE400X black, or whichever of the CE401A, CE402A, or CE403A colors runs low.
