Frequently Asked Questions

Does the x configuration of the M605x need a special cartridge?

No. The Enterprise M605x takes the same CF281X as the rest of the family — the high-yield black rated at 25,000 pages. The letter after the model name describes the machine's paper-handling configuration, not a different supply.

This machine runs long, uninterrupted jobs. When is the right swap moment?

Between jobs, and earlier than instinct suggests. A cartridge that starts a long run already low may fade before the run ends, and pages from a faded stretch have to be printed again. Check the percentage before any big batch and swap if there is doubt.

How do I read the remaining toner?

On the control panel's supplies screen, or remotely through the embedded web server. On a high-capacity machine the percentage falls in bigger daily steps than on a desktop unit, which makes the remote check worth scheduling.

Two paper sizes loaded, one cartridge — any conflict there?

None. Trays hold paper; the cartridge holds toner, and it serves every tray equally. Letter in one tray and legal in another changes nothing about how the CF281X is spent — only the printed pages count.

Where should the spare for a machine like this be kept?

In the room, sealed and flat. A high-capacity printer is usually placed where the work is, not where the supply office is, and a spare stored beside it turns the swap into part of the job instead of an errand.

What terms back the cartridge?

A 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns; details live on our shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Cartridge for the M605x

The M605x is configured to keep printing while other machines are being refilled with paper, and its supply keeps the same philosophy — one CF281X, 25,000 pages, long quiet intervals between changes. Priced at $59.12 in the HP toner cartridges range at Clever Supplies, it is the only consumable the machine asks for.
