Frequently Asked Questions

How long might five cartridges last an Xpress M2670 that prints every day?

The pack holds 15,000 pages in total. A daily-use M2670 turning out 750 pages a month - prints and copies combined - works through it in about twenty months. At 1,500 pages a month the same box lasts ten months. Either way, cartridge changes become the only toner event; ordering stops being one.

What does each cartridge in this pack effectively cost?

Each works out to $22.27, since the five cost $111.37 rather than the $185.30 that five singles at $37.06 would come to - a saving of $73.93 across the box. In page terms that is roughly 0.74 cents against about 1.24 cents bought singly, on identical cartridges with identical 3,000-page ratings.

Is there a catch to buying toner this far ahead?

Only storage, and it is a mild one: keep the sealed boxes cool, dry and out of direct sunlight, and use them in arrival order. Toner does not go off on any short timescale. For a multifunction in everyday use the far more common catch is the opposite one - running dry mid-week with no spare in the building.

Which printers could share this pack with our M2670?

Everything on the platform: the Xpress M2620, Xpress M2820, Xpress M2870, Xpress M2880FW and Xpress M2830 DW, and the SL-M2820DW, SL-M2830DW, SL-ML2830DW, SL-M2870FW and SL-M2880FW. One pack can backstop any combination of those machines, which is handy where departments run different models.

What happens if a cartridge in the pack is faulty when opened?

That unit alone is returned. Each cartridge carries its own one-year warranty and a year of free returns, and the process is described on the shipping and returns page. The remaining cartridges stay in service. Shipments originate from IL, PA, GA and CA.

Why is there no high-yield-versus-standard choice inside this pack?

Because the pack is already the high-yield option: every cartridge in it is an MLT-D115L at 3,000 pages. The MLT-D115S is the same platform's standard-yield cartridge, sold singly for lighter use. Offices standardising on the L - as this pack does - get the lowest page cost and the fewest changes, while the MLT-R115 drum follows its own separate schedule.
