C9650
The Okidata C9650 is a heavy-duty wide-format color laser printer built for print rooms and departments with serious volume. A critical detail: it uses the 42918981–84 cartridge family — different toner from the C9600/C9800 line despite the similar names. Compatible C9650 cartridges are the cost-effective way to feed this high-output machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
What toner does the Oki C9650 take?
The C9650 uses black 42918981, cyan 42918982, magenta 42918983, and yellow 42918984. Do not confuse these with the similar 42918901 series used by other Oki models.
My C9650 prints have horizontal lines across color areas. Toner or drum?
Check toner levels first, since a low color cartridge can cause banding. If levels are fine, the drum for that color is the likely cause. Drums and toner are separate consumables on this LED printer.
Can I print black-only documents if a color cartridge is empty on the C9650?
The printer generally requires all cartridges seated to operate, so replace the empty color cartridge promptly. Keeping one spare color cartridge avoids being blocked from black printing.
