Frequently Asked Questions
Who actually buys eight cartridges in one order?
Print rooms and busy offices running a C9650 hard. When a machine is producing thousands of pages a week, stopping to reorder singles costs more in disruption than the toner itself, so heavy users stock this eight-cartridge set — built from the black 42918984 and the colors 42918983, 42918982 and 42918981 — and pull replacements off the shelf as the printer asks for them.
What do I save against ordering two four-cartridge sets?
Two of the standard four-sets would total $584.34; this eight-cartridge box is $565.85, so you keep $18.49 and the per-cartridge average falls to roughly $70.73. It is a modest saving, and the real value is one delivery and one purchase order instead of two.
How are the eight cartridges divided among the four colors?
The listing confirms eight cartridges covering all four positions — black plus the three colors — but does not itemize the exact split, so we will not invent one. If your usage leans heavily on a particular color, contact support before ordering and we will confirm the makeup of the box for you.
What page ratings stand behind a set this size?
The ratings are quoted per class: the black cartridges are in the 18,000-page class and the color cartridges in the 16,000-page class at standard coverage. Quoting one giant combined number would flatter the set, so we keep the two classes separate, the way the printer itself consumes them.
Which machines will this set keep supplied?
The Oki C9650dn, C9650hdn and C9650hn — the three printers whose supply lists call for 42918984, 42918983, 42918982 and 42918981.
What protection covers a purchase of this size?
The same as on any single cartridge: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, set out in our shipping and returns policy. The set ships from whichever of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses is nearest, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. You can also browse the rest of our Okidata range for smaller pack sizes of the same family.
