Frequently Asked Questions

What does the per-cartridge cost look like in this 3-pack?

The three cartridges are $214.61 together, which divides to about $71.54 per cartridge. Against the $83.87 single-cartridge price, three bought separately would cost $251.61, so the pack saves $37.00 — and at up to 18,000 pages per cartridge, the running cost lands near 0.40 cents per page.

How far does 54,000 pages of black actually go?

That is the combined rating of the three 42918984 cartridges in this box. For a C9650 doing regular production work — proofs, signage, presentation runs — three cartridges is a sensible planning unit: long enough that toner stops being a weekly concern, short enough that you are not warehousing a year of stock.

Do all three cartridges have to go into the printer at once?

No. The C9650 takes one black cartridge at a time; the other two are spares. Install one, keep the rest sealed on the shelf, and swap as each runs out. Stored cool, flat and out of sunlight, a sealed cartridge keeps fine between changes.

Which C9650 models is this listing for?

The C9650dn, C9650hdn and C9650hn, per the 42918984 cartridge specification. If you are reordering, the quickest check is the number on the cartridge already in the machine — match 42918984 and you have the right unit regardless of which of those three models you run.

What is the difference between this and a genuine Oki cartridge?

The brand on the box. This is a compatible 42918984, manufactured new to the original specification — not Oki-branded, and not a refilled or remanufactured shell. In place of the badge it carries a one-year warranty, and the purchase is covered by one year of free returns.

How quickly can I get help or send something back?

Support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from whichever of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses is positioned to reach you fastest. Returns within the first year are free; the full terms are on our shipping and returns page.
