Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does the number 42918984 identify?

It is the part number of the black toner cartridge for Oki's C9650 family — one cartridge, black only, built to that specification. The 42918984 code is the reliable way to identify this unit: if the cartridge you are pulling out of the printer, or the supplies list in your manual, carries that number, this is the cartridge that replaces it.

How much printing does one cartridge cover?

The rating is up to 18,000 pages of black output at standard test coverage. A wide-format machine like the C9650 often prints dense graphics and full-bleed color work, so real life will land under the rating on heavy jobs and closer to it on ordinary office documents — 18,000 is the figure to budget against.

What is the cost per page on a single cartridge?

At $83.87 for up to 18,000 pages, the arithmetic works out to roughly 0.47 cents per page. That is the honest single-cartridge figure for this listing — no multi-pack discount is folded into it, which is exactly why it is the right baseline if you want to compare pack sizes later.

Which printers does it serve?

This cartridge serves the C9650dn, C9650hdn and C9650hn. Those are the models tied to the 42918984 listing; if your machine is a different C9650 variant, check the cartridge number it currently uses before ordering rather than going by the printer family name alone.

Is this an original Oki cartridge?

No. It is a compatible 42918984 — newly manufactured to the original cartridge's specification, not an Oki-branded unit and not a refilled shell. It is backed by a one-year warranty, which is the commitment standing behind it in place of the brand badge.

What happens if it arrives and something is wrong?

The order is covered by free returns for one year, set out on our shipping and returns page. Cartridges ship from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you need a person rather than a policy page.
