Frequently Asked Questions

What should the first pages look like after this cartridge goes into an ML-2545?

Clean and full-density from the first sheet. Run one or two test pages: text should be solid black right to the edges, with no pale band or grey wash. If the very first page is slightly light, a second print usually settles it as toner distributes — persistent streaks or voids are not normal, and that is what the warranty is for.

How far does one cartridge stretch on a shared workgroup printer?

The MLT-D105L is rated at up to 2,500 pages. The ML-2545 typically serves several people, so even a modest shared output of 800 pages a month means a cartridge roughly every quarter. That rating assumes standard text pages; heavy forms and dense graphics will pull the real figure below it.

What is the running cost per page on the ML-2545?

At $39.40 over up to 2,500 pages, toner comes to about 1.58 cents per page. On a shared machine that number multiplies across every user's printing, which is exactly why the larger pack sizes of this same cartridge exist for busier offices.

Does this cartridge fit only the ML-2545?

No — the MLT-D105L is the shared supply for a whole group: the ML-1910, ML-1915, ML-2525, ML-2525W and ML-2580n use it too, along with the SCX-4600, SCX-4623F, SCX-4623FN, SCX-4623FW multifunctions and the SF-650. A cartridge bought for the ML-2545 can rescue any of those machines in a pinch.

For a shared printer, is this high-yield or the standard MLT-D105S the better buy?

For shared duty, this one. The MLT-D105L is the high-yield version, so the ML-2545 goes longer between swaps and the cost per page is lower; the standard-yield MLT-D105S suits a lightly used personal machine. On a printer the whole team depends on, fewer interruptions win.

What cover do we get with this cartridge?

A 1-year warranty, and free returns for a year from purchase. The full terms are on our shipping and returns page; our support team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if anything underperforms.
