Frequently Asked Questions

The cartridge that came with our ML-1915 ran out surprisingly fast — will this one do the same?

Almost certainly not. Printers commonly arrive with a small starter supply meant to get the machine running, not to last. This is the full high-yield MLT-D105L, rated for up to 2,500 pages, so it holds far more toner than the cartridge the ML-1915 was boxed with and should outlast it by a wide margin.

What does 2,500 pages mean for a home-office ML-1915?

At a typical home-office pace of about 150 pages a month — letters, forms, the odd boarding pass — one cartridge runs well past a year. Even doubling that to 300 pages a month, you are looking at roughly eight months between changes, which is why this size suits a one-person desk so well.

For a single light user, is this high-yield version smarter than the standard MLT-D105S?

It depends on how the ML-1915 earns its keep. This MLT-D105L carries more toner, so its cost per page is lower and changes are rarer. The standard MLT-D105S asks less money up front but empties sooner. If you print most weeks, the high-yield maths usually wins; if the printer wakes up a few times a year, paying less today can be the honest choice.

The ML-1915 sits unused for weeks at a time — should the cartridge come out for storage?

Leave it in. Toner is a dry powder, so there is nothing to dry out or clog while the machine rests. Print a page or two when you come back to it and output should be full-density again. Any unopened spare is best kept sealed, lying flat, somewhere cool and out of direct light.

Does this cartridge work in anything besides the ML-1915?

Plenty. The MLT-D105L is shared across the ML-2525, ML-2525W, ML-2545, ML-2580n and ML-1910 printers as well as this ML-1915, and it also drives the SCX-4600, SCX-4623F, SCX-4623FN and SCX-4623FW multifunctions and the SF-650 fax machine — handy if a second Samsung machine joins the household or office later.

How are we covered if the cartridge disappoints?

Every one of these cartridges leaves us with a 1-year warranty and free returns available across the first year. If a cartridge fades early or misbehaves, the shipping and returns page explains the process, and support is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
