Frequently Asked Questions
How do we put a defensible per-page cost on our B3465DNF's output?
Use the pack arithmetic. This 5-pack of 331-9807 cartridges is $370.98 for 100,000 rated pages, which is about 0.37 cents of toner per page — a clean, quotable figure for a chargeback or a budget line. It is also the honest one: it comes from the rated capacity of the cartridges actually in your machine, not a catalogue average.
Several departments share one machine — how fast does a 5-pack go?
Shared machines eat toner at the combined rate of everyone who prints to them, copies included. Five cartridges is 100,000 rated pages; if the machine's counter climbs by 15,000 pages a month, expect the pack to last the better part of seven months. Reading the counter monthly turns that estimate from a guess into a schedule.
When should we reorder — at which cartridge?
When the fourth cartridge goes in. That leaves one full 331-9807 — 20,000 rated pages — as working buffer while the next order ships, which at any normal department pace is weeks of cover. Reordering at the last cartridge instead turns every delivery delay into a problem you did not need to have.
Does the pack beat buying singles across the year?
On price, plainly: five singles total $444.95 against $370.98 for the pack, so the pack saves $73.97 and brings each cartridge down from $88.99 to $74.20. On effort, too — one order, one delivery, one invoice instead of five of each scattered through the year.
Is this the genuine Dell cartridge for the B3460DN–B3465DNF range?
No — these are compatible 331-9807 cartridges, made by a third party to the same specification. The listing names the machines they serve and the part number they are built to; what separates them from the genuine article is the badge on the box and the price, not the rated 20,000 pages each cartridge carries.
What are our options if a cartridge in the pack fails early?
Each cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year, so a faulty unit goes back without the department wearing the cost. Our support team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the full terms are on our shipping & returns page.
