Frequently Asked Questions
Why buy two cartridges at once when one is already rated at 20,000 pages?
Continuity. One 331-9807 goes into the machine and the second waits on the shelf, so the day output fades there is no gap while a delivery makes its way to you. On a shared B3460DN or B3465DNF, the cost of a stopped printer is measured in other people's stalled work — the spare is cheap insurance against that.
What does the 2-pack do to the price of each cartridge?
It brings each cartridge down to $79.74. Two singles bought one at a time would cost $177.98; the pair is $159.48, so the pack saves $18.50 before you print a page. Spread across the pack's 40,000 rated pages, the running cost drops to about 0.40 cents per page.
What does 40,000 pages look like as a supply plan?
For most departments it is a half-year-or-better horizon in a single order. One purchase covers the working cartridge plus its replacement, which halves the ordering events and stretches the interval between them — fewer invoices to process, fewer chances to discover the shelf is empty at the worst moment.
Should both cartridges go into service at the same time?
No — a printer takes one 331-9807 at a time. Fit the first, keep the second sealed in its box, and rotate it in only when the first is spent. Toner keeps well stored sealed and flat away from heat, and running the pack in sequence is what turns it into an unbroken supply rather than two cartridges ageing side by side.
Is this the same cartridge as the single 331-9807 listing?
Exactly the same cartridge, from the same stock — the only difference is how many are in the order. This listing names them by the printers they serve, the B3460DN–B3465DNF range, and the part number behind both listings is 331-9807 either way.
What cover applies to each cartridge in the pack?
Each cartridge carries the same cover as a single: a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, whether it is the one in the machine or the one still on the shelf. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the full terms are on our shipping & returns page.
