Frequently Asked Questions

What does a three-cartridge supply look like across a year in an SL-M2820DW?

Three MLT-D115L cartridges hold 9,000 pages in total. A printer turning out 750 pages a month spends a year working through this box, changing cartridges roughly every four months. At half that volume the same box lasts two years. Either way, toner becomes an annual purchase instead of a recurring errand, and the shelf always holds the next change.

Where does the three-pack sit on price between the single and the five-pack?

In the sensible middle. The three cartridges cost $74.22 together - $24.74 each, against $37.06 for a single and $22.27 inside the five-pack. Against three singles at $111.18 you save $36.96, and the running cost lands near 0.82 cents a page: not the floor price of the biggest box, but a strong step down from buying one at a time.

How should three cartridges be worked through so the last is as good as the first?

Fit them in arrival order and keep the waiting two sealed, flat, cool and dry. Toner does not go stale on any schedule that matters inside an intact bag; warmth, damp and damage to the seal are the real enemies. Used that way, the third MLT-D115L prints as cleanly in its turn as the first did on the day the box arrived.

Which other Samsung printers can use cartridges from this pack?

Any on the MLT-D115L platform: the Xpress M2620, Xpress M2670, Xpress M2820, Xpress M2870, Xpress M2880FW and Xpress M2830 DW, and the SL-M2830DW, SL-M2870FW, SL-M2880FW and SL-ML2830DW besides this SL-M2820DW. A three-pack bought for one machine can quietly underwrite a second printer of the same generation if its cartridge gives out first.

Across 9,000 pages, what else on the printer might need attention?

The imaging drum, eventually. Toner fading evenly is this cartridge finishing; a mark or band repeating at the same interval down the page belongs to the separate MLT-R115 drum unit, and no toner change will fix it. Most SL-M2820DW owners meet the drum question only after several cartridges, but the distinction saves replacing the wrong part when it comes.

What warranty and returns cover applies to this pack?

Each cartridge is individually backed by a 1-year warranty and free returns for a year, so a faulty unit returns alone at no cost. The details are on the shipping and returns page, support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders are dispatched from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA.
