Frequently Asked Questions

One cartridge in the printer, one on the shelf - what does this two-pack do to the SL-M2820DW's running cost?

It trims it without committing you to a big stock. The two MLT-D115L cartridges cost $55.64 together - $27.82 each against $37.06 singly - so across the pack's 6,000 pages the toner cost falls from about 1.24 cents a page to roughly 0.93 cents. You keep the always-a-spare habit and bank a saving of $18.48 against two single purchases.

How much printing do the two cartridges cover between them?

Up to 6,000 pages - 3,000 from each cartridge at standard coverage. For an SL-M2820DW producing 400 pages a month, that is around fifteen months of printing split into two long stretches, with the changeover itself taking under a minute. Dense, coverage-heavy work shortens each fill somewhat; ordinary office documents track the rating closely.

Why choose two cartridges rather than one or five?

It is the middle habit. One cartridge leaves the printer one fade away from a wait for delivery; five is the best unit price but ties up more money and shelf space than a light user needs. Two keeps a sealed spare permanently in reserve while the spend stays modest - a sensible size for a single home-office or small-desk machine.

Do these cartridges fit any other Samsung printers?

Yes. The MLT-D115L is shared with the Xpress M2620, Xpress M2670, Xpress M2820, Xpress M2870, Xpress M2880FW and Xpress M2830 DW, and with the SL-M2830DW, SL-M2870FW, SL-M2880FW and SL-ML2830DW as well as this SL-M2820DW. The spare half of this pack can therefore rescue a second machine on the same platform if one is ever added.

If one of the two cartridges turns out to be faulty, what happens?

It goes back on its own. Each cartridge carries its own 1-year warranty and its own year of free returns, so a leaking or streaking unit is returned at no cost while the other keeps the printer running. The process is explained on the shipping and returns page, and support can help Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

How does the spare cartridge need to be stored while it waits?

Sealed, flat, and in a cool dry place - a desk drawer or cupboard shelf is ideal. Toner inside an intact seal keeps for many months without losing quality; heat, humidity and a torn bag are the things to avoid. When the working cartridge fades for good, the spare goes straight in, and that is the moment to order the next two-pack.
