Frequently Asked Questions

The spent cartridge from our SCX-4623FN is stamped MLT-D105L — is this listing that same cartridge?

It is. Our listings are organised by printer model, which is why this page carries the SCX-4623FN's name, but the supply inside is the MLT-D105L your old cartridge is stamped with. Match that code and you are matching the cartridge — the model-named page is simply the route most owners take to find it.

How long will 2,500 pages last a small admin office?

An office putting about 600 pages a month through the SCX-4623FN — correspondence, copied forms, the day's faxes — gets roughly four months from one cartridge. The rating holds up best when the mix is ordinary office text; months heavy with dense scanned documents will trim it somewhat.

We receive faxes into memory and print only some of them — does the unprinted traffic cost toner?

None at all. A fax sitting in memory has not touched the cartridge; toner is spent only at the moment a page is actually printed. Offices that screen faxes this way routinely stretch an MLT-D105L well beyond what their raw fax count would suggest.

What is the per-page toner cost on the SCX-4623FN?

With the cartridge at $39.40 and rated for up to 2,500 pages, each printed page carries about 1.58 cents of toner, whatever job produced it. Set against a month of mixed output, that keeps the machine's running cost easy to forecast and easy to bill back.

Which other machines does this cartridge serve?

Alongside the SCX-4623FN, the MLT-D105L fits its SCX-4623F and SCX-4623FW siblings and the SCX-4600, the Samsung ML-1910, ML-1915, ML-2525, ML-2525W, ML-2545 and ML-2580n printers, and the SF-650 fax machine. One spare kept for this machine doubles as cover for any of those.

How are returns and warranty handled?

Simply: the cartridge carries a 1-year warranty, and returns are free for a year from purchase. The shipping and returns page lays out the steps, and if you want a person rather than a page, support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
