Frequently Asked Questions

Our Xpress M2870FD receives faxes day and night - what does holding five cartridges change?

It removes the empty-printer scenario. A fax machine cannot pause an incoming transmission because its toner ran out at 2 AM; with four sealed MLT-D115L cartridges behind the one in the machine, a change is a thirty-second job whenever the fade appears, and no delivery is ever waited on. The stock quietly absorbs overnight and weekend traffic alike.

How long might five cartridges last a fax-fed multifunction like this?

The box holds 15,000 pages in total. A machine printing 900 pages a month across faxes, copies and documents works through it in roughly sixteen to seventeen months; double that volume and it is still more than eight months between toner orders. Because received faxes are easy to undercount, plan from the printer's own page counter for the truest figure.

What does the pack do to the price of each cartridge?

Each MLT-D115L in this box effectively costs $22.27, against $37.06 bought singly - five singles would total $185.30, the pack is $111.37, so $73.93 stays in the budget. Spread over 15,000 pages, the running cost falls from about 1.24 cents a page to roughly 0.74 cents, fax pages included.

Can this pack also serve other Samsung printers in the building?

Yes. The same cartridge fits the Xpress M2620, Xpress M2670, Xpress M2820, Xpress M2880FW and Xpress M2830 DW, and the SL-M2820DW, SL-M2830DW, SL-M2870FW, SL-M2880FW and SL-ML2830DW. If a colleague's machine empties first, a cartridge from this pack fits it too - the box works as shared platform stock, not just M2870FD stock.

Is there a right way to work through a deep stock like this?

Fit the cartridges in the order they arrived and keep the waiting ones sealed, flat, cool and dry. Toner does not expire on a schedule inside an intact seal; what shortens a stored cartridge's life is heat, humidity and a torn bag. Rotated that way, the fifth cartridge prints as well in month sixteen as the first did on day one.

What cover applies to the cartridges in this pack?

Every cartridge carries its own 1-year warranty and its own year of free returns, so a faulty unit is sent back individually without disturbing the rest of the box. The returns route is explained on the shipping and returns page, and help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Orders are dispatched from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA.
