Frequently Asked Questions

How long should one cartridge last in my Xpress M2020?

The cartridge is rated at 1,000 pages. The little M2020 is a personal printer, and at a typical home pace of a few pages a day that rating stretches across months; a student printing coursework weekly might see a single cartridge cover a whole term.

Why did the first cartridge in my M2020 finish so quickly?

The M2020 shipped with a small starter cartridge, not a full one. This replacement is a complete MLT-D111S rated at the full 1,000 pages, so it will outlast the supplied unit by a wide margin doing exactly the same printing.

Does my M2020 need a drum change as well as toner?

No separate drum exists on this machine — the imaging parts are built into the cartridge itself. When print fades or streaks, one cartridge swap renews the works, and there is nothing else on a maintenance list to buy.

What is the running cost of an M2020 on this cartridge?

At $35.90 and 1,000 rated pages, toner runs to about 3.59 cents per page. For a personal printer that is the straightforward single-cartridge rate; anyone printing in volume can trim it with the multi-packs of the same cartridge.

Does this cartridge fit the other Samsung printer at home?

It fits the whole MLT-D111S family: Xpress M2020, Xpress M2022, Xpress M2070F, Xpress M2071, Xpress M2020W, Xpress M2022W, Xpress M2070FW, Xpress M2071FH, Xpress M2021, Xpress M2070, Xpress M2070W and Xpress M2071W. If your second machine is on that list, this single spare covers both.

How quickly can I get help if a cartridge misbehaves?

Support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and every cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty with free returns across the same year, as the shipping and returns page sets out. Parcels dispatch from our IL, PA, GA and CA depots.
