Frequently Asked Questions
What does "Maximum Capacity" mean on this cartridge?
It describes the fill. The CE255XJ, offered here as a single cartridge at $80.43, is the maximum-capacity 55XJ cartridge, rated at 20,000 pages — built for machines whose monthly volume makes even long intervals between swaps feel short.
What kind of workload justifies a 20,000-page cartridge?
Continuous, workflow-heavy output: a multifunction machine processing scanned document flows, copied case files and printed reports from morning to close. Where the cartridge change itself is an interruption the team feels, maximum capacity pushes it furthest away.
How will we know it is finally running low?
The machine reports its supplies level on the control panel and through its web interface. With a cartridge of this size, build the check into a weekly routine — the gauge moves slowly for a long time, and the habit catches the turn.
Is a cartridge this large a risk to keep as the only one?
It is a long runway, but a runway all the same. Offices that cannot tolerate downtime keep a sealed spare; those with several machines on the same cartridge share the buffer across the fleet.
How should it be handled and stored before fitting?
Keep it sealed, flat, in a cool dry place out of sunlight. It is a substantial cartridge, so lift it with two hands when its turn comes and keep the packaging until it is seated in the machine.
What does fitting involve?
Nothing beyond the ordinary changeover for this printer family: out with the finished cartridge, in with the CE255XJ, and a supplies status page to confirm the machine sees a full cartridge. The difference is how long it will be before you do it again.
About This CE255XJ Single Cartridge
The LaserJet M525c is the flow model of its line — a multifunction machine bought for document workflows that never really pause. Pairing it with the CE255XJ is the natural match: a maximum-capacity cartridge rated at 20,000 pages, so the machine's marathon work is matched by a cartridge that treats a toner change as a rare event on the calendar.
Support runs Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST if you need us. The cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, ships from the nearest of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and delivery terms are on the shipping & returns page. The rest of the platform's supplies are catalogued under HP.
The same shelf holds the high-yield 55X (CE255X) single cartridge and the standard-yield 55A (CE255A) single cartridge. Owners of LaserJet P3015, LaserJet P3015dn, LaserJet M521dn, LaserJet M525dn, LaserJet P3015d, LaserJet P3015x, LaserJet Enterprise P3015, LaserJet M521dw, LaserJet M525f and LaserJet M525c are all shopping for this same 55XJ (CE255XJ) cartridge.
