Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in this three-pack?

Three separately sealed CE255A black cartridges for $93.18. On a multifunction machine that prints, copies and faxes all day, three cartridges give you one in the machine and a comfortable buffer of two behind it.

Do copies and faxes use this toner the same way printing does?

Yes — every copied page and every printed incoming fax is a page laid down by this cartridge, at the same 6,000-page rating. Scanning to email or a folder is the one MFP job that uses no toner at all.

Why does an MFP seem to empty cartridges faster than a plain printer?

Because it has three streams of work instead of one. Walk-up copying alone can rival the print queue, and fax traffic arrives whether anyone is watching or not, so the cartridge drains on a schedule nobody in the office fully sees.

How do I check the level on a multifunction machine?

The control panel's supplies screen shows the cartridge level directly, and the machine's web interface reports the same figure from any desk. A glance at either before a heavy copying session prevents the mid-job surprise.

How should the two spare cartridges be stored?

Sealed, flat, and somewhere cool and dry — a supply cupboard near the machine is ideal. Mark the arrival order on the boxes if your office is disciplined about rotation, and fit the oldest first.

Does the third cartridge ever go stale if the machine is lightly used?

Sealed toner keeps for a long time under normal office conditions. If the MFP's workload is modest, the pack simply lasts longer — the cartridges wait in their boxes until each one's turn comes, with no maintenance in between.

About This CE255A Three-Pack

The LaserJet M521dn earns its place by doing everything: printing the day's documents, copying signed forms, receiving faxes. All of that output passes through one black cartridge, which makes running dry a triple problem. This three-pack of CE255A cartridges, rated at 6,000 pages each, matches the machine's appetite with stock that is already in the building.

Support is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST if anything needs clearing up. The pack is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns and ships from the nearest of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses; delivery terms are set out on the shipping & returns page, and the full HP range covers any other machines on the floor.

One 55A (CE255A) cartridge serves the full range — LaserJet P3015, LaserJet P3015dn, LaserJet M521dn, LaserJet M525dn, LaserJet P3015d, LaserJet P3015x, LaserJet Enterprise P3015, LaserJet M521dw, LaserJet M525f and LaserJet M525c. Also in this line: the 55A (CE255A) single cartridge and the high-yield 55X (CE255X) three-pack.
