Frequently Asked Questions

How should five cartridges be stored so the last one is as good as the first?

Sealed, flat, indoors, away from radiators and sunny windows. Toner is a dry powder, so a normal office cupboard is fine for the whole life of this 44574901 5-pack — just use the boxes in order and keep them in their packaging until install day.

What does this 5-pack cost per cartridge?

About $14.25. The set is $71.27 for five high-yield cartridges — $73.98 less than five singles at $29.05 — and across its 50,000 pages the running cost is roughly 0.14 cents per page.

Which printers will these cartridges feed?

The listing is named for the B431d, and the 44574901 also runs in the MB461 MFP, MB471 and MB471W — five cartridges can be shared across any mix of those machines.

Is five cartridges overkill for one B431d?

It depends on throughput. At 2,000 pages a month it is about two years of printing; at 5,000 a month, under a year. If your B431d is the office's only monochrome machine, five is a planning horizon, not an excess.

Does buying in a pack weaken my warranty?

No. Every cartridge in the set carries the same one-year warranty and free one-year returns described on the shipping and returns page.

Is this an original Okidata product?

These are compatible cartridges built to the 44574901 specification. You can compare the rest of the range on the Okidata brand page; help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
