Frequently Asked Questions

When should a B431d office reorder if it buys this 3-pack?

A workable trigger: when you install the last of the three. This pack holds 30,000 pages of 44574901 toner — three cartridges at 10,000 pages each — so opening the final box still leaves you a full cartridge of printing while the next order ships.

What is the per-cartridge math here?

The set is $50.15, which is about $16.72 per cartridge — the same pack price as the part-number 3-pack listing, and $37.00 less than three $29.05 singles. Running cost lands near 0.17 cents per page.

Are these three cartridges all the same?

Yes — three identical compatible high-yield black 44574901 cartridges. The listing is named for the B431d, and the same cartridge also serves the MB461 MFP, MB471 and MB471W.

Our B431d shares duty with an MB471 — does one stock work?

It does. Because both machines draw on the 44574901, this single 3-pack is the spare shelf for both, and whichever printer fades first takes the next cartridge.

What if a cartridge misbehaves months after purchase?

The warranty runs a full year and returns are free for a year, multipack units included — see the shipping and returns page for the details.

Where does the order ship from, and is this OEM?

It ships from the nearest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses. And no — these are compatible cartridges, not original Okidata stock; the wider range is on the Okidata brand page.
