Frequently Asked Questions

Five cartridges at once — is this a fleet pack or a single-machine pack?

It works both ways, but it shines brightest across machines. Any office running two or three FX-3 devices — a LaserClass on the fax line in reception, an imageCLASS in the back office, a MultiPass in a branch — draws every cartridge from the same shelf, because they all take the identical Canon FX-3. Five cartridges total 17,500 pages, and a shared shelf means no machine ever waits on its own separate order.

What is the saving compared with buying the cartridges singly?

Five singles at $47.79 come to $238.95. This 5-pack is $165.00, so the saving is $73.95 and the per-cartridge price drops to $33.00 — about 0.94 cents per page. That is the lowest unit price in the FX-3 (part number 1557A002BA) family we list, and it comes from committing to a quantity, not from any difference in the cartridges themselves.

Different departments use the machines at different rates. Does that complicate stock?

It simplifies it, if anything. One cartridge type for every machine means one stock level to watch: when the shelf drops to one sealed cartridge, reorder. There is no matching the right box to the right device and no department stranded with toner that fits nothing it owns. Note the install date on each box and the usage pattern of each machine becomes visible on its own.

What condition do the five cartridges arrive in, and how should they be kept?

Each arrives individually sealed. Store the boxes flat in a dry cupboard away from heat and sunlight, and issue them oldest-first. Toner does not deteriorate sitting in a sealed cartridge, so a fleet shelf of FX-3 stock is stable inventory, not perishable goods.

What protection covers a pack spread across several machines?

The same as any single: each cartridge is a new compatible unit covered by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, individually. Whichever machine a faulty cartridge lands in, that cartridge is replaced or refunded on its own — the rest of the pack and the other machines are untouched by the claim.

Where does a pack this size ship from?

From whichever of our US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is closest to you, so even a five-cartridge order travels domestically. Delivery and returns details are on our shipping and returns page, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
