XP-330 Ink — The 288XL Shelf
Epson's cartridge data sheet for this family places the XP-330 first in the six-model 288 roster, with two tiers: standard 288 (black 175 pages, colours 165 each) and high-capacity 288XL (black 500, colours 450 each), all on the ISO/IEC 24711 pattern. Our shelf carries the XL tier only — the compatible ladder for this family has no standard singles — built around T288XL120 black and T288XL220 / T288XL320 / T288XL420 colours, in four singles, a Set of 4 and a bulk Set of 9.
Two boundaries keep orders right. The XP-330 is not a 220 printer (that family serves the WF-2760 generation) and not an 822 printer — those cartridges do not fit, whatever a search result suggests. Badge first: XP-330 means the cartridges on this page, and no others.
The same 288XL shelf serves the whole family roster — XP-340, XP-430, XP-434, XP-440, XP-446 — so one cartridge list covers every model on it, and a spare bought for any of them fits the rest. The ink is pigment throughout: prints come off the page dry, text stays sharp, and a highlighter passes over a page without smearing it — the behaviour school and office paper actually needs.
Which 288XL should you buy?
- One colour ran out: replace just that colour — black, cyan, magenta and yellow singles are $13.49 each.
- Full refresh: the Set of 4 ($47.94) replaces all four positions in one box.
- Print every week: the Set of 9 ($94.37) stocks three blacks and two of each colour.
Chip, ink and everyday use
These cartridges are chipped, so keep automatic firmware updates off where the printer allows it; a mid-cycle update is the common trigger for recognition warnings. Every cartridge carries a new compatible chip for ink-level reporting. If a firmware update ever precedes a recognition warning, reseat the cartridge and restart before judging it — the lifetime warranty, with 1-year free returns, stands behind every cartridge regardless.
