Yellow is the colour nobody watches — until photos come out blue-tinted and charts lose their highlights. This compatible T288XL420-S is the high-capacity yellow for the Epson 288 family: DURABrite Ultra pigment ink rated up to 450 pages (ISO/IEC 24711), where the standard-capacity yellow is rated 165.
One of four individual cartridges, replaced on its own when its slot runs low, it carries a new compatible chip for ink-level reporting. Honest note: this cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur — reseat and restart first if the printer questions it. Its XL siblings: T288XL120-S black (500 pages), T288XL220-S cyan and T288XL320-S magenta (450 pages each).
Fits all six verified 288-family printers — XP-330, XP-340, XP-430, XP-434, XP-440 and XP-446. Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the T288XL420 rated for?
Up to 450 pages (ISO/IEC 24711) — the XL yellow rating, against 165 pages for the standard T288420-S.
How do I confirm yellow is the empty one?
Run the nozzle check from the printer menu: a missing yellow pattern confirms it. A blue or green colour cast in prints points the same way.
Which printers fit?
The verified six: XP-330, XP-340, XP-430, XP-434, XP-440 and XP-446.
Ink type?
DURABrite Ultra pigment — all four 288 colours are pigment, yellow included.
Does it carry a chip?
Yes, a new compatible chip. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur; reseating and restarting is the first fix, and disabling automatic firmware updates lowers the risk.
Can I install just the yellow?
Yes — individual cartridges are independent; swap the empty slot only.
Will XL yellow work with standard colours installed?
Yes, capacities mix freely in this family.
Why is there no millilitre specification?
Epson does not publish an mL volume for this family in US documentation, so we leave it blank rather than guess. Compare on the ISO yield: 450 pages.
Genuine or compatible?
Compatible — Clever Supplies, built to the T288XL420-S specification and labelled as such; not made by Epson.
Warranty promise?
Replacement if the cartridge fails to perform — recognition after troubleshooting, leaks, or poor output from new — under the lifetime warranty; free returns in year one.
Why buy the XL yellow?
450 pages against the standard 165 stretches the interval between colour swaps nearly threefold.
Single yellow or the Set of 4?
Single if the other colours have life left; the Set of 4 when several slots are low together.
