XP-434

The Expression Home XP-434 takes the Epson 288 cartridge family — individual pigment cartridges in black, cyan, magenta and yellow. The compatible 288XL cartridges below rate black (T288XL120) up to 500 pages and colours up to 450 each, and carry a lifetime warranty.

XP-434 Ink Cartridges — 288XL High Capacity

Epson's cartridge data sheet lists the XP-434 in the same six-model 288 roster as the XP-430 and XP-440: standard codes T288120 through T288420, and the XL set stocked here — T288XL120 black and T288XL220 / T288XL320 / T288XL420 colours at 500 pages for black and 450 per colour (ISO/IEC 24711), all DURABrite Ultra pigment. The standard tier exists in Epson's catalogue but not in the compatible ladder, and we say so plainly: this shelf is XL-only.

Because the roster is shared, everything the family documents about fit applies here unchanged: four individual cartridges, one per slot, and no cartridge from a neighbouring family — 220 or 822 — fits this printer. If you are arriving from another 288 model, nothing changes either: the cartridges already in your old printer are the cartridges on this page.

The same 288XL shelf serves the whole family roster — XP-330, XP-340, XP-430, XP-440, XP-446 — so one cartridge list covers every model on it, and a spare bought for any of them fits the rest. Pigment ink is the everyday half of this family's story: dry-to-the-touch pages and smudge-resistant text, with spares that keep best sealed — away from air and light — until the day they are installed.

Which 288XL should you buy?

  • One colour ran out: replace just that colour — black, cyan, magenta and yellow singles are $13.49 each.
  • Full refresh: the Set of 4 ($47.94) replaces all four positions in one box.
  • Print every week: the Set of 9 ($94.37) stocks three blacks and two of each colour.

Chip, ink and everyday use

Every cartridge carries a new compatible chip for ink-level reporting. If a firmware update ever precedes a recognition warning, reseat the cartridge and restart before judging it — the lifetime warranty, with 1-year free returns, stands behind every cartridge regardless. Levels report per cartridge, so a single low colour never forces a full reset.
