Frequently Asked Questions

What does one of these cartridges actually cost us per page?

Divide the price by the rating: $141.96 across 15,000 pages puts the 006R01698 at about 0.95 cents per page. That figure assumes the standard 5 percent coverage the rating is measured at. It is the right number for comparing cartridges against each other — and an optimistic one for a department whose pages are heavy with colour.

Why do real departments get fewer pages than the rating promises?

Coverage. The rating imagines a page that is 5 percent ink; a slide deck, a chart-heavy report or a photo page can run three to ten times that, and every point of extra coverage comes straight out of the page count. The ALTALINK C8055 is bought for exactly that kind of output, so its cyan cartridge works harder per page than the test sheet ever did.

Does duplex printing save toner as well as paper?

No — duplexing saves paper only. Each printed side lays down the same toner it would on a single-sided sheet; a two-sided page simply spends the 006R01698 on the back as well as the front. Budget toner by printed sides, not by sheets out of the tray, and the numbers stop surprising you.

How much more toner does an A3 page use than a letter page?

Roughly twice, because the printable area is roughly twice as large. A shop that runs A3 drawings or posters all day should halve the headline rating in its head: the 006R01698 rated at 15,000 letter pages behaves like a cartridge of about half that count when the work is all A3 at the same coverage.

When is the right moment to reorder for a machine this busy?

At the low-toner warning, not at empty. High-volume machines do not fade politely — they stop mid-run, usually during the biggest job of the week. Ordering when the warning lands leaves delivery time as a comfort rather than a crisis, and keeping one sealed 006R01698 in reserve covers the gap entirely.

What protection and delivery does this purchase include?

A one-year warranty protects the cartridge, and returns are free for a full year — see our shipping and returns page for the detail. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the complete Xerox range is listed on the Xerox toner page.

About This AltaLink C8055 Cyan Toner Cartridge

High-volume colour work is where cyan consumption stops being theoretical. This compatible 006R01698, rated at 15,000 pages and priced at $141.96 here, feeds the C8055 at roughly 0.95 cents a page at standard coverage — less per page in practice only if your coverage behaves, which on this class of machine it rarely does. It is sold singly, warranted for a year, and returnable free of charge for the same period.

One cyan serves every AltaLink C8000 model — the ALTALINK C8030, ALTALINK C8035, ALTALINK C8045, ALTALINK C8070 and ALTALINK C8055 all take the 006R01698. Complete the C8055 set with the 006R01697 black cartridge, 006R01699 magenta cartridge and 006R01700 yellow cartridge, each a single listing.
