Frequently Asked Questions

The cyan has run out on our C8030 — how do I make sure the replacement I order is the right one?

Order by the part number on the cartridge itself. Pull the empty unit and read the label: the cyan for this machine is 006R01698. Matching that code matters more than matching a machine name, because the AltaLink range runs several look-alike cartridges in different colours and capacities. If the code on your order reads 006R01698, you have the cyan this listing sells.

What does the 15,000-page rating mean on an A3 machine like this?

It is the manufacturer's standard measure: 15,000 pages at 5 percent coverage on letter-size paper. The ALTALINK C8030 spends much of its life on A3, and an A3 sheet carries roughly twice the printable area of a letter sheet, so a run of A3 posters or plans draws the 006R01698 down about twice as fast per sheet as the headline rating suggests.

What does this cartridge work out to per printed page?

At $141.96 for a single 006R01698 rated at 15,000 pages, the arithmetic is about 0.95 cents a page at standard coverage. Dense colour work — full-bleed graphics, solid backgrounds — will land above that figure; ordinary office documents with a logo and a chart or two tend to land near it.

What is in the box when it arrives?

One cyan toner cartridge, sealed, sold on its own. There are no other colours in the carton, and nothing else is needed from the box to get the machine running again — the spent unit comes out and this 006R01698 goes in its place.

Should a department sharing one C8030 keep a spare on the shelf?

On a shared departmental machine, yes. When cyan empties, colour work queues up behind it and the whole floor feels the stop. A spare 006R01698 stored upright in its box, away from heat and direct light, turns a stalled afternoon into a two-minute swap.

What warranty and delivery does it come with?

Every cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year — the details sit on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST. The full range lives on the Xerox toner page.

About This AltaLink C8030 Cyan Toner Cartridge

This is the single compatible cyan cartridge for the C8030, ordered by its part number: 006R01698. It is rated at 15,000 pages, priced at $141.96 on this listing, and works out at roughly 0.95 cents per page at standard coverage. The rest of this machine's colours are listed the same way: the 006R01697 black cartridge, 006R01699 magenta cartridge and 006R01700 yellow cartridge, each sold on its own.
