Frequently Asked Questions

Blue skies in our prints have gone pale and washed out — is the cyan on its way out?

That is the classic signature of a fading cyan. Sky, water and corporate blue are built mostly from this colour, so when the 006R01698 runs low they are the first things to lose depth while text stays perfectly black. Before blaming the file or the screen, check the cyan supply level — a drained cartridge explains pale blue long before it explains anything else.

Why do reds turn orange and greens turn yellowish at the same time?

Because cyan is a partner in both. Green is cyan laid over yellow; red tones borrow cyan to stay rich rather than fiery. As the 006R01698 empties, every mixture that depends on it shifts warm — greens go lime, reds go orange, blues go weak. When several unrelated colours drift in the same direction at once, the cause is almost always one shared ingredient running out, not the artwork.

How do I check how much cyan is left in the machine?

Open the supplies status on the ALTALINK C8030 control panel or its web interface and read the cyan gauge. Treat the percentage as an estimate rather than a promise — it is calculated from page counts and coverage, so a heavy graphics week can empty the cartridge faster than the gauge implies.

Can we keep printing once the low-cyan warning appears?

Usually for a while, yes — the warning is a heads-up, not a halt. What changes is quality: each page takes a little more from a cartridge that has a little less, so blues thin out gradually rather than stopping mid-job. For internal drafts that trade-off is fine; for anything a client will see, swap in the fresh 006R01698 before the run, not after the complaint.

How long should a fresh cartridge last us?

The 006R01698 is rated at 15,000 pages measured at 5 percent coverage. Real life on a colour machine is rarely 5 percent: presentations, charts and photographs push coverage up and the page count down. Judge it by your own mix — a text-led office gets close to the rating, a graphics-led one plans for less.

What cover and delivery come with this cartridge?

It arrives with a one-year warranty and free returns running for a full year, as laid out on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the rest of the range is gathered on the Xerox toner page.

About This C8030 Cyan Cartridge (006R01698)

When an AltaLink's blues wash out and its greens go yellow, this is the cartridge behind it. A single compatible 006R01698 cyan, rated at 15,000 pages and listed at $141.96, restores the colour every mixture on the page depends on. It is sold individually, warranted for a year, and returnable free of charge for the same twelve months.

This cyan is common to the AltaLink C8000 group — the ALTALINK C8035, ALTALINK C8045, ALTALINK C8055, ALTALINK C8070 and ALTALINK C8030 all take the 006R01698. The C8030's other cartridges are listed individually: the 006R01697 black cartridge, 006R01699 magenta cartridge and 006R01700 yellow cartridge.
