Frequently Asked Questions

What cartridge does the AltaLink C8030 take in its black position?

One number answers it: 006R01697. The whole AltaLink C8000 family draws its black toner from this single supply, so the black cartridge for the C8030 is the 006R01697 — rated for up to 26,000 pages — and nothing else needs to be matched, memorised or cross-checked before you order.

Is this listing for the black cartridge only?

Yes. This is the black cartridge on its own. The cyan, magenta and yellow positions in the machine take their own separate cartridges, sold as their own listings; nothing in this box is a colour cartridge, and the 26,000-page rating belongs to the black alone.

What does the 26,000-page rating actually promise?

It is the cartridge's rated yield — the page count it is built and tested to deliver under standard rating conditions. Dense coverage shortens real life and light text-only work stretches it, but as a planning figure it is the honest one: a single 006R01697 carries a department through tens of thousands of pages before the black position needs attention again.

What does it cost per page?

The cartridge is $118.35, which against 26,000 rated pages works out at roughly 0.46 cents a page. That is the figure worth holding onto when the machine's consumption is reviewed: black pages on this platform cost under half a cent in toner each.

Which machines use this same black cartridge?

The ALTALINK C8030 this listing is named for, and its four family partners — the ALTALINK C8035, ALTALINK C8045, ALTALINK C8055 and ALTALINK C8070. One spare on the shelf covers any of them.

What cover comes with it?

The cartridge carries our one-year warranty with free returns for a full year; the shipping and returns page sets out the detail. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
