Frequently Asked Questions

Can one pair serve more than one machine?

Easily — that is the quiet advantage of this family. The black cartridge, 006R01697, is shared across the whole AltaLink C8000 range, so a pair held centrally is not earmarked for any single printer. Whichever machine empties first takes the next cartridge; the pair serves the fleet, not a nameplate.

Do both cartridges in the box have to go to the same printer?

No. They are two independent cartridges that happen to share a box and a price. Fit one in the C8045 today and hold the other for a different machine next month — nothing ties them together, and each carries the same rating of up to 26,000 pages.

What does the pair pricing do for a central supplies budget?

It lowers the unit the budget actually tracks: $109.09 per cartridge in the pair versus $118.35 singly — $18.51 saved per pair, at about 0.42 cents per page against 0.46. Across a fleet drawing several pairs a year, that is the difference that shows up in the annual supplies line.

How many pages does a central pair represent?

52,000 pages in total. Held centrally, that figure is best read against the fleet's combined black volume rather than one machine's: add up the monthly meters of every AltaLink on the floor, and 52,000 pages divides into that total to give the pair's lifespan in weeks.

Is this pair black-only?

Yes — two black cartridges, for black positions. The colour positions across the fleet take their own cartridges under their own part numbers. This listing states no colour yields because it sells no colour cartridges.

What warranty covers a centrally held pair?

Each cartridge carries our one-year warranty with free returns for a full year; the shipping & returns page explains how it works. Orders leave warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
