Frequently Asked Questions

At C8070 volumes, is a two-pack a long supply?

Honestly, no — and that is the right way to understand it. The pair holds 52,000 pages, which a hard-worked C8070 can print in about two months at 25,000 pages a month. The pair is not a quarter's stock; it is a buffer — the guarantee that the next cartridge change is a two-minute job instead of a stopped machine and an urgent order.

Why does the buffer matter more on this machine than on a smaller one?

Because throughput cuts both ways: the C8070 empties cartridges fastest precisely where the cost of standing idle is highest. A department that routes 25,000 pages a month through one device cannot treat toner as an afterthought. One cartridge fitted, one on site — that is the minimum posture for a machine of this class.

What does the pair cost against singles at this volume?

$218.19 the pair: $109.09 per cartridge versus $118.35 singly, saving $18.51 each time — about 0.42 cents per page against 0.46. At six pairs a year, the habit of buying in twos returns roughly $111 against single buying, for cartridges that are identical in every respect.

Which cartridge is it, exactly?

The 006R01697 black cartridge — the single black supply for the entire AltaLink C8000 family, rated up to 26,000 pages per cartridge. Both cartridges in the box are that cartridge; there is no high-volume variant or separate C8070-only version to look for.

Where else on the floor can the spare be used?

Anywhere the family reaches: the ALTALINK C8070 in this listing, the ALTALINK C8030, ALTALINK C8035, ALTALINK C8045 and ALTALINK C8055 all take the same black cartridge, so the spare can be redirected to whichever machine needs it first.

What cover comes with the pair?

Each cartridge carries a one-year warranty with free returns for a full year; see the shipping & returns page for the process. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
