Frequently Asked Questions

How long does one cartridge last on a busy departmental C8035?

The cartridge is rated for up to 26,000 pages, so the calendar answer depends on your volume. At 3,000 pages a month it runs eight months or more; at 6,000 a month, a little over four months; a department pushing 10,000 pages a month will change it roughly every two and a half months. Count your machine's monthly meter against 26,000 and you have your own figure.

When is the right moment to reorder?

When the cartridge in the machine becomes the last one you own. A 26,000-page cartridge gives plenty of notice as it runs down, but the safe departmental habit is simple: the day a fresh 006R01697 goes in, its replacement goes on order. That way the shelf is never the reason a shared printer sits idle.

What does black printing cost us per page on this machine?

The cartridge costs $118.35 and is rated at 26,000 pages, so the black toner in each page costs about 0.46 cents. For a department printing 6,000 pages a month, that is roughly $27.60 a month in black toner — a small, predictable line next to the cost of the paper it lands on.

Does one spare cover the other machines on our floor?

Yes. The black supply is shared across the family: the ALTALINK C8035 named here, the ALTALINK C8030, ALTALINK C8045, ALTALINK C8055 and ALTALINK C8070 all take the same 006R01697 in the black position, so one shelf spare protects every machine.

Can a spare sit in the cupboard for months without spoiling?

It can. Sealed toner is stable in ordinary office conditions — a shelf away from heat and damp is all it needs. A cartridge bought this quarter will print its full rated yield when its turn comes next quarter or the one after; nothing about waiting degrades it.

What happens if the cartridge turns out to be faulty?

It is covered by our one-year warranty, with free returns running for a full year from purchase; the process is explained on the shipping and returns page. Stock leaves from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and a person answers support Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
