Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a shared departmental machine suit a two-pack?

Because nobody owns the moment it runs out. On a personal printer an empty cartridge is one person's errand; on the department's C8035 it is everyone's stalled morning. A pair puts the spare in the cupboard beside the machine, so whoever finds it empty fixes it in minutes — the replacement belongs to the machine, not to whoever remembered to order.

What is the reorder rule with a pair?

Simple enough to tape to the cupboard door: when the spare goes into the machine, order the next pair. That keeps one cartridge in the printer and one in reserve at all times, and the order is placed while the machine is running — never while it is stopped and waiting.

How does the money compare with singles?

$218.19 for the pair is $109.09 per cartridge, against $118.35 bought singly — $18.51 saved over the two, and a running cost of about 0.42 cents per page instead of 0.46. The cartridge itself is identical either way; the pair is cheaper purely because you committed to the spare.

How long will the pair last a department?

Between the two cartridges there are 52,000 rated pages. A department printing 4,000 black pages a month uses a pair in just over a year; at 8,000 a month, in about six and a half months. Your meter reading gives the exact rhythm — the pair simply guarantees the rhythm is never interrupted by an empty shelf.

Can the pair serve the other AltaLinks on our floor too?

Yes. The family's black supply is one cartridge — 006R01697 — shared by the ALTALINK C8035 in this listing, the ALTALINK C8030, ALTALINK C8045, ALTALINK C8055 and ALTALINK C8070. Either cartridge from the box can rescue any of them.

What if a cartridge from the pair is faulty?

Both are covered by our one-year warranty with free returns for a year, as set out on the shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
