Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know when to reorder yellow for a shared MC573DN?
A sensible trigger is the first low-toner warning, not the first spoiled print run. Yellow fades gradually — by the time a shared machine's output looks obviously wrong, several people's jobs have already suffered. Ordering at the warning keeps a 46490601 on hand before the cartridge actually gives out.
How much printing is in one cartridge?
Up to 6,000 pages at standard coverage. On a networked multifunction that prints and copies for a whole team, calendar life varies a lot — what matters for planning is that one cartridge covers a substantial block of color work before the next order.
Can we do the full cost accounting on this cartridge?
Yes: $56.15 divided by the 6,000-page rating gives roughly 0.94 cents per page for yellow. Add the equivalent figures for the black and the other two colors and you have the machine's honest toner cost per color page.
Is this an OEM cartridge?
It is a compatible cartridge made to the 46490601 specification, not an original Okidata one. Every cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty, and returns stay free for a year — the details are on our shipping and returns page.
Does this listing include the other three colors as well?
No, this is the yellow cartridge only. Its siblings in the 46490601–46490604 numbering are ordered individually as each color runs down, so you never pay to replace a cartridge that is still printing well.
Which warehouse ships it, and when is support open?
Your order is sent from the closest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses. The support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Sibling cartridges and the rest of the range are on our Okidata page.
