Frequently Asked Questions
Does color copying on the MC573 use this same yellow cartridge?
Yes. When your MC573 copies a color original, the copy is printed with the same four cartridges it uses for ordinary printing — including this 46490601 yellow. A department that copies a lot of color paperwork can drain yellow faster than its print volume alone would suggest.
What is the rated life of this cartridge?
Up to 6,000 pages. Scanning itself uses no toner, of course, but every color copy and color print draws on that budget, and image-heavy originals draw the hardest.
What does yellow cost per page here?
The cartridge is $56.15, so across its 6,000-page rating the yellow share of a page comes to about 0.94 cents. For an office budgeting per-copy costs on a multifunction machine, that is the number to carry into the calculation.
Is this cartridge made by Okidata?
No, it is a compatible cartridge built to the 46490601 specification rather than an original-brand one. It is covered by a one-year warranty, with free returns for a year under our shipping and returns page.
Only the yellow has run out — must I order the other colors too?
No. The four numbers in this family — 46490601, 46490602, 46490603 and 46490604 — are separate cartridges bought separately. Order just the yellow now and replace the others as each one empties.
Where does the cartridge ship from, and when can I reach support?
We dispatch from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, choosing the one nearest you. Support hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The wider range for this machine is listed on our Okidata page.
