Frequently Asked Questions
Is one cartridge at a time the right way to buy yellow?
For most C532 owners, yes. This listing is a single 46490601 yellow cartridge at $56.15, so you spend only when the yellow actually runs down instead of tying money up in colors that are still half full. Colors rarely empty together, and buying singly follows the printer's real consumption.
How should I store the cartridge before I install it?
Keep it sealed in its box, flat, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. Stored that way it waits patiently on the shelf; open it only when the old cartridge is ready to come out, and give it a gentle rock side to side before fitting it to settle the toner.
What page count should I plan around?
The cartridge is rated at up to 6,000 pages. Light color users may take a year or more to get through that; a home office printing color documents daily will move through it faster, but it remains a long-lived supply either way.
What does that make the cost per page?
$56.15 across 6,000 pages is roughly 0.94 cents per page for the yellow portion of your printing — the figure to use if you are working out what a color page truly costs on this machine.
What protection comes with a compatible cartridge like this?
This 46490601 is a compatible cartridge rather than a genuine Okidata one, and it is covered by a one-year warranty with free returns for one year, per our shipping and returns page. If it misbehaves, you are not stuck with it.
Where is stock held, and when can I talk to someone?
We hold stock in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California and ship from the site closest to you. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The other members of this cartridge family — 46490602, 46490603 and 46490604 sit alongside 46490601 — are listed on our Okidata page.
