How do I know I am buying the right cartridge for the ML-160?

Cartridge codes for the ML-160 are model-specific: ML-D1630A is the match, and codes from other Samsung families will not fit or seat correctly. How accurate is the toner gauge on the ML-160?

A low-toner message right after installing a fresh ML-D1630A in the ML-160 usually means incomplete seating or that the printer needs a restart to read the new chip.
