Frequently Asked Questions

One cartridge in the printer, one on the shelf - is that the idea behind this two-pack?

Exactly that. The ML-1630 stops being a problem the moment a cartridge fades, because the spare is already in the building: swap the shelf cartridge in and reorder at leisure instead of mid-crisis. For a single machine that prints steadily, one-in and one-waiting is the smallest stock that removes toner from the list of things that can interrupt a working day.

What does the second cartridge in this box save us?

The two-pack is $86.72 against $105.22 for two singles bought apart, so $18.50 stays in the budget. Per cartridge the price is $43.36 rather than $52.61, and the page cost improves from about 2.63 cents to about 2.17 cents across the pack's 4,000 rated pages.

How many pages do the two cartridges cover together?

Four thousand rated pages - each ML-D1630A is rated at 2,000, and the pair simply doubles it. At a modest office pace of a hundred pages a week, that is most of a working year from one box; a busier ML-1630 will naturally move through them faster, but the two-cartridge rhythm stays the same.

Does the spare lose anything while it waits its turn?

Not kept properly. Leave it sealed, store it flat in a cool dry cupboard out of sunlight, and the powder inside is unchanged when you open it months later. The only real enemies are heat, damp and an opened bag, none of which a normal office shelf supplies.

Which machines take this pack's cartridges?

Both are Samsung ML-D1630A cartridges, listed here for the ML-1630. The ML-1630W printer uses the same cartridge, and so does the SCX-4500 multifunction, so a two-pack can quietly cover more than one machine if your office runs a mix of them.

How does the warranty work across a two-pack?

Independently, cartridge by cartridge: each ML-D1630A carries its own one-year warranty, and returning a faulty one is free within that year, whether it is the first from the box or the shelf spare. Orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
