Frequently Asked Questions

Why do faces in our printed photos keep coming out either sunburnt or washed out?

Skin tones are where magenta does its most delicate work. A healthy-looking face is built from a careful balance in which magenta supplies the warmth; when this cartridge starts running low, that warmth drains away first, leaving faces pale with a faintly green cast, long before the page looks obviously wrong. The CLT-M505L is a generous fill — rated at 3,500 pages — but photograph printing spends magenta faster than everyday documents do, so portrait-heavy work is usually where the fade shows up.

Besides photographs, where else does this colour earn its keep?

Anywhere a page needs red, pink, purple or orange. Magenta pairs with yellow to build reds and oranges, and with cyan for purples and violets, so it is quietly present in logos, chart segments, highlighted headings and marketing graphics even on pages that look mostly black and white at a glance.

The cartridge I removed is stamped CLT-M505L, but some listings just say CLT-505L — is it the same supply?

Yes. CLT-505L is the family name for this range of cartridges, and the letter in the middle picks out the member: this CLT-M505L is the magenta, alongside the CLT-K505L black, the CLT-C505L cyan and the CLT-Y505L yellow. If the cartridge you pulled out carries the M code, this listing is its replacement.

Which printers does this cartridge fit?

It is made for two Samsung ProXpress colour models: the C2620DW and the C2670FW. If your machine is one of those, the CLT-M505L is the magenta it uses; it is not listed for any other Samsung platform.

What does a page cost with this cartridge?

The CLT-M505L is priced at $47.40 against a 3,500-page rating, which works out at roughly 1.35 cents per page under standard coverage assumptions. Photo pages and dense graphics will cost more per sheet in toner terms; light correspondence will cost less.

What cover do we get if something goes wrong with it?

Every Clever Supplies compatible cartridge, this one included, is covered by a one-year warranty, and returns are free within the first year if the cartridge is not right for you. The full wording lives on our shipping and returns page.
