Frequently Asked Questions

Our company red prints bright one week and dull orange the next — what is going on?

A strong brand red is not a colour the printer holds in a bottle; it is mixed on the page from magenta and yellow. While the magenta is healthy the mix lands as the red you approved, but as this cartridge fades, the balance tips and the same logo drifts towards orange and brown. Because the change is gradual, it usually shows up in customer-facing material — brochures, signage, packaging inserts — before anyone notices it in internal documents.

How much marketing material should we expect from one cartridge?

The CLT-M505L is rated at 3,500 pages, and at $47.40 that is roughly 1.35 cents per page at standard coverage. Treat the rating as a mixed-workload figure: a run of full-colour leaflets with large red panels spends magenta far faster than the same count of letters with a small logo in the corner, so heavy promotional weeks shorten the cartridge's life accordingly.

The title says CLT-505L but the code on the cartridge says CLT-M505L — which is right?

Both. CLT-505L names the cartridge family, and the full code identifies the individual colour: the M in CLT-M505L marks this one as the magenta. The rest of the family follows the same pattern — CLT-K505L for black, CLT-C505L for cyan and CLT-Y505L for yellow — so matching the letter on the cartridge you remove is the surest way to order the right one.

When the magenta runs out, do we have to replace the other colours too?

No. This is a single magenta cartridge, sold on its own, and it can be changed the moment it runs down while the black, cyan and yellow stay in the machine. Each colour in this range empties on its own schedule, and replacing only the one that is spent keeps good toner from being thrown away.

Which machines is this cartridge made for?

Samsung's ProXpress colour pair: the C2620DW and the C2670FW. Those two models are the compatibility list for the CLT-M505L — if your printer is either of them, this is its magenta.

What backing comes with a compatible cartridge like this?

A one-year warranty stands behind it, and if it turns out not to be right, returns during the first year are free. You can read the complete terms on our shipping and returns page before you order.
